3 Easy Steps on How to Start a Community Transformation Project
 
Step 1
Publish and advertise an ad in your local newspaper or on your community website in order to recruit volunteers.

Step 2
Set up a meeting at a local school, community centre, church, or business.
 
Step 3
Once a meeting has been set. At the meeting, discuss the roles and responsibilities of each participant involved in the clean up.



Types of Committee’s Needed for a Successful Project
 
Membership Committee
  1. Construct a database of volunteers  
Volunteer Committee
  1. Contact volunteers interested in the event/project
  2. Recruit students from local schools, community centre's, police services who support these types of projects, BIA's, entertainers, food donors, virtually anyone you think who would contribute and benefit from the event.
Public Relations Committee
  1. contact local businesses informing them of the event
  2. contact local Police notifying them of the event
  3. contact City Counsellor’s advising them of the event
  4. contact local media informing them of the event
  5. advertise and promote the project through various forms of communication, including website and newspaper advertisements 
Materials and Resource Committee
  1. contact local businesses, such as Home Depot to advise them of the project in order to receive sponsors and donations that can be used towards purchasing materials or any supplies for the event 
  2. obtain all necessary equipment needed for the project such as primer paint, brushes, rollers, spray paint, garbage bags, plants, flowers etc.
